Postpartum Hair Loss

Okay, so this is something that I have literally teared up about the last few weeks. Even when I was shedding like crazy my hair did not fall out as much as it has with my last two wash days. Postpartum hair loss is real ya’ll and yes I was warned, but it hit me hard when it actually happened. I honestly thought I got away with it because I was living my best life and my hair was flourishing. Well, ladies and gentleman, I got the “you thought”directly from the hair gods because the pictures you see above is the hair that comes out when I detangle. I also lose a lot of strands every time I run my fingers through my hair. Again, all of this may be normal for some of you, but for me, this is insane and very out of the ordinary.

I’ve read that this is normal and that your hair should be back to normal within 6 months to a year of giving birth, but I am not satisfied with this answer. I have noticeable bald spots on both sides of my forehead and I already have a five head so this is unacceptable. I totally get that my estrogen levels went drastically down and that’s why my luxurious curls (yes, I’m exaggerating) are falling out before my own eyes.

So what have I done? I went to the hair witches… just kidding, I went to a Dominican beauty supply and asked the experts about what I can use to at least slow down this process. I have been washing my hair with Tricovit shampoo and conditioner. It claims to prevent hair loss and help with growth. I’m also putting in these drops (ampoyas), which I am blanking on the name of (will update this week). The shampoo and conditioner smell good, but they have a lot of ingredients that I would normally stay away from, such as sulfates, so this is very temporary until I am able to restore my hair. I also cut off about 2 inches to keep my hair healthy and light. At this point, I’ll try just about anything.

I previously wrote about Capilo products, which I really, really wanted, but had to order through Amazon and I didn’t want to wait, which is why I desperately visited the beauty supply. If these don’t work, I will probably be reordering Capilo!

If anyone has experienced this, I would love to hear your process. Please write to me here, through an IG DM or e-mail – enidfernandez89@gmail.com

xoxo

Rose Water Everything

I don’t know about you guys but something about rose water all over my face is so refreshing. This post is going to focus on three products that I am currently obsessed with. Honestly, if there were another word stronger than obsessed it would be that word. According the the handy dandy internet, I could have used the following words: captivated, infatuated, dominated, overpowered… yeah, anyway. Let’s move right along to exactly what these products are (click link to purchase or learn more about the product):

  1. Hydrating Rose Facial Spray
  2. Thayer’s Witch Hazel – Rose Petal
  3. Milk Makeup Cooling Water

These products have become a part of my daily routine – day and night. Keep in mind that I am not getting paid for promoting these products, I just really, REALLY, really like them! When I gave birth, I knew that my face needed some rejuvenating. My face ended up breaking out, but most importantly I was NOT sleeping with having a newborn and all. This was all a part of not losing myself and still focusing on me and my needs so I can feel alive and also not dead looking for all of my visitors (not really my visitors, my son’s visitors, LOL).

These products together have kept my face baby smooth and have also helped me resolve my blemishes quickly. I always have that fresh face look and I seriously be feeling confident enough to post a selfie without makeup. After washing my face thoroughly, I instantly use the Witch Hazel with one of those cotton pads – and this is already orgasmic, but after this I use a moisturizer and then put the milk makeup cooling water under my eyes. Lastly, I overdose on the hydrating rose facial spray. Yes, overdose. After this little routine, I’m a brand new person.

It’t not just the feeling, but these products have amazing benefits. Witch hazel alone is anti-inflammatory and has antiviral properties. If you have any blemishes or have acne, this might be a great product for you. Rose water soothes any skin irritation, redness, helps heal wounds, and it also changes your mood and can help relieve headaches. Overall, I recommend these products to anyone who loves that refreshed feeling and wants to give their skin some love.

If any of my readers try these products – let me know! I would love to know about your experience.
