Firstly, let me apologize because I’m a piece of shit. The last time I wrote on my blog was in July when I was about 4 months pregnant. They are not lying when they say your baby drains you of all your energy because I totally left this blog and everything else I loved behind. I just didn’t have it in me to write, post pictures, and frankly… to be cute. You may notice that my Instagram also took a hit. lol But let’s put all of that in the past – I am back and better than ever.
My life has changed a bit and I now have a beautiful, sweet baby boy. Although my blog will remain as a curly hair and beauty site, I will definitely be sprinkling some of my mom thoughts and how I balance my passions with my little one. If you are not okay with that, I will hold the imaginary door for you on the way out. lol I am also using this next statement for accountability purposes: I promise to post a new blog every other Thursday going forward.
Let me recap my entire pregnancy, hair and beauty life in a small paragraph:
I have no idea how these pregnant beauty bloggers and Instagram moms do it – looking all majestic while being pregnant all the time. That’s not me – I was looking like a straight homeless woman (my apologies if I offended anyone). I even almost forgot how to do my everyday cat eye and my hair remained in a nice bun the majority of the time. Don’t even get me started on my weekly deep conditioning – it just wasn’t happening. I also have a small shower and being as big as I was, there wasn’t space for me to wash my hair and detangle how I would have liked. Instead, my hair wash days shifted to a nearby sink, but let me tell you – my arms almost gave out. SMH. I’ll be the first to say, that I was at my laziest during my pregnancy – you can judge me all you want. I was; however, committed to having beautiful curly locks while I gave birth – you know? For the pictures and the visitors lol. It was tough, but I achieved it. The toughest part was that I had absolutely no patience while I was washing, deep conditioning and air drying. Probably because I also had no patience for my son who was giving his momma contractions, but he just wasn’t coming. At the end of the day, I was cute my curly hair and I felt accomplished.
If anybody wants to hear about my labor experience as a first time mom – send me a message on here or DM me on Instagram and I will blog my experience.
xoxo
I know the struggle. I’m pregnant now and I didn’t blog for a grip! Being pregnant is the only time you will get to be lazy and I certainly didn’t feel as creative when I was so sick. I’m happy for you, congrats on your baby!
